To Whom It May Concern:
I enclose for your consideration a copy of my resume detailing my experience and qualifications. I am seeking a new and challenging position and am confident that given the opportunity I can make a valuable contribution to your business.
Through dedication, determination and hard work I revitalized a business that had been neglected by a previous owner and built a successful and viable operation. Prior to starting this venture I had no formal training in operating a profitable automotive business. However, through a strong work ethic and customer first attitude, I tripled business in the first month and consistently achieved continued growth. The most significant contributor to my success was my commitment to providing quality service at a fair price. As a result I was able to build an atmosphere of trust that was a key factor in establishing an extensive list of repeat clients. It is also worthwhile to note that when I bought the business in March of 1991, there were four other automotive shops in the industrial park and when I sold it in November 1994 there was only one left.
I am quite technically inclined and particularly enjoy a hands-on approach to new tasks. While operating my business I designed and built my own multimedia computer to automate many of the daily administrative and accounting functions, studied electronic engine management systems to repair complex computer problems and introduced fax and cellular equipment to streamline operations.
I am an innovative individual who is both goal and career-oriented. I enjoy striving to be the best at whatever I am doing. I get along well with others and am able to learn new skills quickly. I am agreeable to any continuing education that may be required to enable me to be the best that I can be in any field.
Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I would very much like to meet with you to tell you more of how my talents could be of use to your company.
Sincerely,
Marvin E. Miller
